Enchanting Coron: Francisco Reyes Airport & R2R Bayview Inn

Date: 14 November 2012 (Wednesday)
Time: 0930H

We arrived at the airport of Busuanga, Palawan, the Francisco Reyes Airport. The bumpy landing was too scary because of its small runway. Only Bombardier Q300 & Q400 can land on that runway and perhaps helicopters and small chartered planes.  The weather was exactly what i envisioned myself, sunny and indeed hot (and I'm loving it).

I think the tour guides were pretty organized, even the drivers, they only have one docking area and all of them wear pink polo shirts, all the AC vans are white so you can distinguish them easily. We didn't have a hard time looking for the agency, CALAMIAN TOURS because there's a big signage of my name there. We met Chris and she led us to the van which will drop us to our hotel. When we got inside, I'm happy there are other guests as well, most of them foreigners. There are also couples like us and some foreigners have diving gears too, I bet they are here for the shipwreck diving in Culion Island.

The 40 minute ride to the town will take you to another world far from what we have here in Manila. A world full of green mountains and nipa huts where locals reside, clean rivers, clear blue skies, beautiful landscapes but there's no planted crops. The tour guide in the van said that the soil here is not that good to grow crops. They import fruits and vegetables in Puerto Princesa making the commodities here in Coron a little bit pricey. You'll just see and appreciate how simple life there is. There is no electricity in some areas. Some bridges were under construction and you'll see roaming goats, horses and cows there. The place is indeed rural.

While enjoying the view, I knew we have one problem. There is no signal on our mobile phones. We are both Suncellular subscribers. I asked the tour guide regarding our concern and she said that the only network available here are Smart & Globe. So sorry for us. But she told us that we manually set our networks and change it from Sun to Smart.  It worked for us.

So here is our hotel, R2R Bayview Inn, At first glance, it does not look like a hotel because there is a hardware in front and some areas are under construction because they are expanding the whole place. But soon as you get inside, it is beautiful also. It has a mini garden.

Crazy Introduction: Coron, Palawan Escapade

Today is the 12th day of November 2012 (Monday) and it is raining.

I could not hardly believe that this trip have come to its realizations. We have planned this trip for quite a while because we were thinking of our budget and this year we have traveled a lot already. We have been in Cagayan de Oro last February, Vigan- Laoag- Pagudpud last April, and Cebu- Bohol last June.

We got this tour from Travel Mart at SMX MOA Convention Center.

I have seen a lot of pictures and blogs about Coron, and this time, I will make one myself. I am pretty excited about the details of our trip.

I am just so happy when my fiancee and I packed our things for this trip. We even bought an underwater camera just for this trip. It is OLYMPUS and costs P14,000.00. Well , I hope it will do its job underwater. Or else. hahaha.

I just have ONE problem.

WEATHER.

And I give a damn. Of course. Who wants bad weather to ruin their trip. I just hope everything will work out fine, JUST FINE.

I am so confused right now. And these things run in my head right now........

- I have a vision. A hot sunny weather in Coron, Palawan for three days. Please.

- I am on my knees, praying and hoping for the very best.

- BUT THIS KILLS ME.

- 14-16 November 2012

- Mr. SUN, please show up. Pretty Pretty PLEASE.

- PRAYING hard. Keeping my fingers crossed.

- Weather, please cooperate.

- Oh, GOD, you are my last hope.

- Rain, rain, go away come again another day. (singing)

With all those thoughts in my head, I think I'm gonna be mad. I'm trying to keep all the pieces together.

I love this PSYCHEDELIC ART. This is not mine. I just got this from http://themodernmarvelous.wordpress.com/2011/11/14/interest-in-psychadelic-art/

I just think, as of this moment, this would perfectly define what state I am in :)

Starbucks: Rekindle the Joy

It's Christmas time once again, Starbucks as usual has there promo of free limited edition Starbucks planner 2013 once you completed all the 17 stickers. Coffee lover or not, people indulge in this kind of promotions, lining up to their favorite Starbucks branch and ordering their favorite coffees, beverages. I dunno. I think, this is a very smart move from Starbucks, you know MARKETING strategies.

I dunno why I collect them too. There's just this deep sense of gratification once you have collected all of them. Or perhaps the mere journey or process of completing the stickers. It's like a challenge or a game. And i am for the WIN (devil laugh). It makes me hopeful for the future.

And I am but super excited to finish mine, as of now I have two stickers, 15 more left.  My personal favorite among the three Christmas flavors is the Toffee Nut Latte. Its just too sweet and i'm loving it. It puts me into the right hyper and funky mood.

For my plan to be successful, I asked the help of my ever loving fiancee, so every time we order, instead of one, it will be two stickers. And I want to thank him for supporting me on this.

Happy coffee drinking everyone!

Looking forward for my Starbucks Planner 2013 :))

Old Penang RS Restaurant

My fiancee and I have been trying different restaurants during our monthsary dates and last November 1, 2012, we both decided to go to RWManila since its walking distance in my place, and we are going to watch Skyfall as well.

We tried Old Penang RS Restaurant, located in 4th floor of the Newport Mall in Pasay. Its like a casual dining restaurant.

By the way, for the curious minds out there asking what does RS stand for, well, I asked one crew there and he said RS stands for "Rasa Sayang" meaning "loving feeling".

Oh well, our budget led us to 2 diferrent food categories.

Noodles and Chicken.
